I love birds and in our backyard we have plenty of them. Throughout the year we see red cardinals, Humming birds, and a number of birds that are just great to look at or listen too. Since a couple of months my daughters been having a number of different chickens which has attarackted even more birds. Yesterday we found a new bird in our backyard however. While I know he was after our chicks and couldn't decide between the 4 week old chickens or the 6 week old Quail, my first instinct wasn't to chase it away, instead I grabbed my camera. It was a beautifull peregrine falcon (or atleast that is what I think it is. I wanted to share some pictures with y'all.

Our birds have never been so quiet Mr. Green

The Falcon actually tried to lift up the pen or ripping of the chicken wire by grabbing on to the chicken wire and flying up...

It's not a peregrine falcon, but it's a beautiful bird nonetheless.

It's something in Buteo genus, but I'm not entirely sure which kind...I'm thinking a red tail...

It doesn't look completely mature yet, so I think it's a juvenile red tail that doesn't have it's full color plumage yet.

Peregrines don't usually come to the ground to find food. They dive bomb on birds mid air. We have a few of them here in Edmonton, and if you're lucky, you'll see a pigeon explode over the train tracks and then a peregrine fly away with a dead pigeon in its talons!

Yes a beautiful bird. but I'm not sure it's a red tailed hawk, either. I'm thinking red shouldered hawk. Notice the bars on the tail the unknown bird and the lack of bars on the tail of the known red-tailed.

Great bird photos, by the way!!
