Dear all

After I've started with the production - I've bought the females (45-60 days old) at a producer's place. We travel with the quails for almost 380km without any problem.

On the first days they were putting eggs (a small % out of 240 animals), suddenly the eggs stopped and almost inmediately quails started to die.

At the beginnig 3-4 per night and then this was ¬°ncreased to 14-20 a day!

I made all the normal checks (water supply, temperature, food - bought at an official producer -, time light, etc)

I've seen two Vets. and the second gave me an antibiotic that reduced the number of deaths. Then they suddenly started to produce again (few eggs for a small number of days)

The last three that passed out were hurt by the others, another symptom was that their claws were curved before they died so they were no able to remain stand up (Not only on these three but in a big number of animals).

Autopsy was made to a good sample of the population and nothing clear was found.

Now I'm checking the food to see if the proportions that appear on the label are correct.

For you to have an idea of the damage produced, I've lost +/- 71% of the total amount of birds (240)!

Any suggestion, comment, help will be appreciated!

Best regards
