The babies I have came from the flock I have. I started with 8 quail, 3 females and 5 males. I'm down to 3 males and 1 female due to deaths. I have 10 babies that have hatched. Can't I add them to the flock? When can the babies go out side? Do I need to make a pen just for them?

personally, i would not add babies to the flock, i would wait til they are mature, buut keep a close eye on them incase the others decide to be terratorial.
again in my opinion, babies cannot go outside untill they are fully feathered up and can keep warm.

it would be interesting to know what your birds died of tho.....was it cold, attack or some other reason?
