I use 22% Game Bird Starter for my birds, but I grind it up with a coffee grinder so they can eat it.

i use normal chick crumbs for my lot.....but when i had smaller quail i used to grind it up in and old smoothy maker.....so it was like a dust.
i keep them all on high protein till they are about 12 weeks old, then they go onto layers pellets.

i was looking into game bird starter, but the only one i could get was medicated, and had to be supplied by the vet......so i decided my chooks do well on their feed, so the quail will too.....fofl...

yeah, we have a large agricultural merchant near our farm, but they cannot sell the game bird feed, because it is medicated, without a prescription from the vet......
it is down to the fact that the birds have to have a withdrawl period after they have been on it, and are not fit for human cunsumption for a few weeks.....it is all down to health and safety, which of course is right, but it is a lot of messing about.....lol....
